Ashraf is an A. professor at the psychiatric Department, Cairo University. He earned his Master's Degree working with cancer patients at the Cancer Institute and finished his Medical Doctorate Degree more than 10 years ago. He has been teaching in Cairo University undergraduates and postgraduates for more than twenty years now. He is also responsible for the training process of individual and group psychotherapy for psychiatrists and psychologists at the University. This is through lectures and regular peer supervision.
Peer supervision is a cornerstone at nine psychology where all the therapists exchange their experiences and develop personally and as therapists.

Ashraf practices Gestalt therapy, which emphasizes personal responsibility and focuses upon the individual's experience in the present moment, and Eclectic therapy which incorporates a variety of therapeutic principles in order to create the ideal treatment program to meet the specific needs of the client including Humanistic and Gestalt approaches. He also practices Gestalt Here and Now groups for the last twenty years.

Ashraf had his fellowship at RidgeView Psychiatric Hospital Atlanta, Georgia, working with adolescents and children facing attention and learning difficulties, misconduct, autism, nocturnal enuresis, depression, anxieties and other challenges.
